Jonas Brothers

It takes more than another Jet Ski ride with Miley Cyrus to pull Nick Jonas away from his brothers and his tour. It takes official White House business.

After spending quality time with Sasha and Malia Obama on two previous occasions, the little JoBro had an important date with the president yesterday.

The 16-year-old is in Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers on behalf of diabetes research. He'll testify before the Senate Homeland and Government Affairs Committee at a hearing today, but yesterday he started at the very top, meeting with Barack Obama for the first time.

The teen was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes three years ago and works with the Juvenile Disease Research Foundation. In typical Jonas fashion, he wore a button-down shirt and jacket with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows for his face time with the commander in chief. He later met with Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey on Capitol Hill.

Sugar Ray Leonard and Mary Tyler Moore are among the other boldfaced names joining him on his mission today.

We can see the bumper stickers now—"Nick Jonas for President!"

Remember how, when the Jonas Brothers' movie underperformed a few months back, everyone was shouting about it being the end of the sibling squad's career.

Well, the doomsayers can suck it (at least for now, more on that later): Those JoBros are No. 1.

For the second time in 10 months, the Disney-backed trio opened on top of the album charts, with their latest, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, selling 247,000 copies, per Nielsen SoundScan.

While that was easily enough to dominate all comers last week, it wasn't without an asterisk...

Kevin, Joe and Nick's previous chart topper, last August's A Little Bit Longer, debuted with nearly twice the sales of Lines.

Anyhow, following a series of dates in South America and Western Europe, the bros kicked off the North American leg of their world tour on Saturday at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium. Miley Cyrus made a cameo, performing the Lines duet Before the Storm.

With the Jonases on top, the Black Eyed Peas slipped to No. 2, selling 148,000 copies of The E.N.D. It had been their first-ever chart topper.

Incubus last cracked the charts three years ago when Light Grenades exploded at No. 1, and while the band has been on a relative break as of late, its double-disc retrospective, Monuments and Melodies, debuted at No. 5, selling 70,000.

Overall sales were up 7 percent from last week, but down 19 percent compared with the same week last year.

Here's a Top 10 recap:

  1. Lines, Vines and Trying Times, Jonas Brothers
  2. The E.N.D., Black Eyed Peas
  3. Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, Dave Matthews Band
  4. Relapse, Eminem
  5. Monuments and Melodies, Incubus
  6. The Fame, Lady GaGa
  7. Chickenfoot, Chickenfoot
  8. Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, various
  9. 21st Century Breakdown, Green Day
  10. Fearless, Taylor Swift

In this concert film, from the same director as "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," you follow the Jonas Brothers as they cross the country on their "Burning Up Tour". The film was filmed in Disney Digital 3-D and will only be shown in Digital 3D. Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift guest star and perform a song with the band. You will see backstage adventures with the Jonas Brothers, and you'll follow them as they prepare for the tour. A new song by the Jonas Brothers will premiere in the film as well. This was filmed July 12 and 13 in Anaheim, California at the Honda Center, and August 10 and 11 in New York City, New York in Madison Square Garden.

As if the frenzy surrounding Twilight couldn't possibly get any bigger, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas apparently want to add to all the madness. The trio has expressed interest in being a part of the soundtrack for the film franchise's next installment, New Moon.

"The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great," Nick tells
MTV. "It would be really cool."

Of course, checking out the original flick first would probably improve their chances a bit…

"I haven't seen it," says Joe of Twilight. "But I have heard it's a great movie."

"We're looking forward to seeing it," adds Nick. "We've been a little busy."

Happy new year,Jonas Brothers and to everybody that comes to our site! hope you've got some killer plans tonight to ring in '09.

You know Joseph and Kevin and Nick and Denise
Papa J, and Big Rob, Garbo, John T.
But do you recall . . . the littlest Jonas of all?

Franklin the Bonus Jonas (Jonas)
He's the very coolest one
He's gotta have his Webkinz (Webkinz)
and he likes to play his drums (like Nicholas!)

He's the youngest of four brothers (brothers)
born on September 28
He wants a minicooper (cooper)
and his favorite food is steak (from their caterers!)

Then one night, up on stage
His brothers brought him out with a tug
Then with a tambourine in hand
He tapped along to Lovebug

There's no doubt about it ('bout it)
Frankie's gonna be a star
Webline, Drop/Slap, or Hollywood Shakeup (Shakeup)
He's gonna go so far (like his brothers!
